Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 November, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how DEX ("DEX", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our mobile applications and web-based interfaces (collectively, the "Services").
DEX is a non-custodial trading interface that connects to the Hyperliquid decentralized exchange. We do not custody user funds and we do not have access to your private keys.
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
- Brand name: DEX
- Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
- Contact email: contact@dex.org
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, you can contact us at the email address above.
2. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Our mobile applications (including any versions distributed via app stores); and
- Our web interface, including publicly available pages such as our waitlist and blog (the "Website").
This Policy covers information that we collect and process when you:
- Use the DEX trading interface;
- Join our waitlist or newsletter;
- Read or interact with our blog; or
- Communicate with us by email or through other channels we provide.
3. Non-custodial design and Hyperliquid integration
DEX is a non-custodial client that interfaces with the Hyperliquid decentralized exchange:
- We do not control or custody user funds.
- We do not have access to your private keys.
- Trading and settlement happen on-chain on Hyperliquid's infrastructure, not on our own servers.
- When you trade through DEX, you are interacting with smart contracts and infrastructure maintained by Hyperliquid and the underlying blockchain.
Because of this:
Certain data related to your use of the Services (such as wallet addresses and on-chain transactions) is public by design and visible on the blockchain to anyone.
4. Information we collect
We only collect the information you described and nothing beyond that. Specifically:
4.1. Information you provide directly
When you interact with DEX, you may provide:
- Email address - When you create or access an account via our supported methods (e.g. Privy), join the waitlist, or subscribe to our newsletter or updates.
- Username / display name - If you choose to set a username or handle in connection with referrals or your profile.
- Profile image / avatar - If you connect, for example, your Twitter account or another profile to display an image inside DEX.
- Referral codes and referral-related information - If you use referral codes or invite others, we store the codes and basic relationships needed to track those referrals.
- Messages and correspondence - Any information you include when you contact us by email or other support channels (e.g. support requests, feedback).
4.2. Wallet and on-chain information
Through the Services, you connect a wallet and interact with Hyperliquid. In that context we process:
Wallet address(es)
Public blockchain addresses you connect to DEX or use while interacting with Hyperliquid.
On-chain transaction data
Public information about your trades, positions, transfers, and other blockchain activity that appears on Hyperliquid and the underlying chain.
We may store and display this information within the app to show:
- Your portfolio,
- Your positions and orders, and
- Your trading history and performance.
This information is already publicly available on the blockchain and on Hyperliquid; we simply read, store, and present it for your convenience within DEX.
4.3. Trading and portfolio data we store
To provide a smooth user experience, we may store:
- Your open and past positions,
- Your orders and fills,
- Derived statistics such as PnL, balances, and trading history,
as they relate to your use of DEX and Hyperliquid. We also fetch this information directly from Hyperliquid when needed, as it is visible on-chain.
4.4. Information we do not collect
We do not collect or store the following:
- No IP addresses (we do not intentionally collect or store IP address information).
- No device information (we do not collect or store device model, OS version, or similar device identifiers).
- No screen or click tracking (we do not track which screens you view, which buttons you click, or similar analytics events within the app).
- No KYC data (we do not collect government IDs, selfies, proof of address, or similar identity documents).
We also do not access or store your private keys.
6. How we use the information we collect
We use the information described above strictly for the purposes you outlined:
To operate and provide the Services
- Creating and managing your account;
- Connecting your wallet and enabling you to interact with Hyperliquid;
- Displaying your balances, positions, orders, and trading history;
- Managing referral codes and any referral-related features.
To communicate with you
- Sending you operational emails (e.g. service updates or important notices about the app);
- Sending you newsletters or product updates if you subscribed;
- Responding to your questions, support requests, or feedback.
To maintain the security and reliability of the Services
- Detecting and addressing technical issues;
- Keeping backups and ensuring continuity of service.
We do not use your information for:
- Personalised advertising;
- Behavioral profiling;
- Third-party marketing.
7. Legal basis and jurisdiction (high-level)
DEX is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our handling of your information is aligned with the purposes described in this Policy, such as:
- Providing and operating the Services you choose to use; and
- Communicating with you at your request.
If you have any questions about how this interacts with your local laws and rights, you can contact us at contact@dex.org.
9. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services you use, or as long as your account remains active.
Account and profile data (such as email, username, referral information, and any optional profile image) are kept while your account is active.
Trading and portfolio data related to your account are kept while your account is active so we can show you your history and positions.
You can request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 10 below). When you do:
- We will remove or anonymize data we control in our systems where feasible.
- However, on-chain data cannot be removed or edited. All transactions executed through Hyperliquid and the underlying blockchain remain permanently visible on-chain, as this is inherent to how decentralized systems work.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on how you use DEX, you may have the following options:
Access and update
You can access and update certain account details (e.g. email, username) through the app or by contacting us.
Newsletter and emails
You can unsubscribe from newsletters or non-essential email communications by using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us.
Account deletion
You can request deletion of your DEX account by contacting us at contact@dex.org.
- After we process your request, we will delete or anonymize the information we control, to the extent feasible.
- This does not affect blockchain data, which remains publicly available and immutable.
If you contact us with a request related to your information, we may ask you for enough details to verify that you are the owner of the relevant account.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we control, including:
- Using HTTPS and other encryption mechanisms to protect data in transit;
- Hosting our infrastructure with reputable cloud providers such as AWS;
- Limiting access to stored information to personnel and systems that need it to operate the Services.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Because DEX interacts with decentralized systems and self-custodied wallets:
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your wallets, devices, and private keys.
- Loss or compromise of your private keys can result in the loss of your assets, and we cannot recover them.
12. Third-party links and content
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content (for example, blog links or external resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
If you follow a link to another website or service, their own privacy policies and terms will apply.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- In some cases, we may provide additional notice within the app or via email where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Services after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means that you accept the updated Policy.
14. Contact
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests related to this Privacy Policy or your information, you can contact us at:
Email: contact@dex.org
We will do our best to respond within a reasonable time.
